Heartbreak as Motorbike Stolen in Shafton

A motorbike was stolen from outside the Shafton WMC on Friday evening. The CBF125 was the owner's pride and joy and its loss has left her heartbroken.

The owner had just popped into the club to socialise with friends. The bike was parked outside of the front doors and was checked regularly over a 20-30 minute period. A couple of minutes after the last check, the owner was approached by a lady who informed her that the bike was no longer there. "I quickly ran outside to check, and the bike was gone".

The owner was then informed by another witness that two males had been seen pushing the bike up the road. The police were called.

"I was in a terrible state. I couldn't believe anyone would take it from right outside the doors to the club."

The police arrived promptly and moved swiftly to check the available CCTV footage. They escorted the stranded victim home where a statement was provided.

"This bike was my pride and joy, I'd only had it for 6 or 7 weeks. I suffer from depression and anxiety so for me to have this bike was a big thing. It helped me deal with my day-to-day struggles as it gave me my independence back."

Unconfirmed reports via Social Media have suggested that the bike had been set on fire, but the owner is awaiting an official update from the police.

The loss of the bike introduces significant challenges. "I'm really struggling with not having my bike as I used it to get to work, go to my daughters & care for my dad."

The heartbroken owner had the following message for the perpetrators:

"My message to the thieves is I hope that one day nothing like this happens to them because it is devastating to have to work hard for what you get in life for someone to think it's acceptable to just take it. You have destroyed my life in more ways than one."

Anyone with any information relating to this crime is encouraged to contact South Yorkshire police.
